About

Sweet Spotz World is an outgrowth of Riprap Entertainment, a California production company formed in 1999, both owned and operated by Sandra Maria Nutt, attorney at law.

Originally from Yellow Springs, Ohio, Sandy majored in Theatre & Drama at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She moved to New York immediately after graduation and became a member of the famed Negro Ensemble Company. The world–renown theatre company was founded in the summer of 1967, under the direction of actor Robert Hooks, actor, playwright, director Douglas Turner Ward, and producer, director Gerald Krone. Sandy performed under the tutelage of Artistic Director, Douglas Turner Ward and also starred opposite Samuel L. Jackson touring in the “WE” Series of plays, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Charles Fuller, in the early 1990s. This series of stage plays was also directed by Douglas Turner Ward and toured numerous cities in the United States. Sandy moved to Los Angeles after the tour closed and appeared on television opposite Candice Bergen and James Earl Jones, among others.

After forming Riprap Entertainment in 1999, Sandy produced several short films and her first feature length film Who's Gonna' Love You Tomorrow? She built and opened her own 60–seat theatre, Riprap Studio Theatre, in North Hollywood in 2001, producing stage, television and webisodes for eight years. Sandy has written numerous screenplays and is the recipient of Kodak's Champagne Celebration Award for First Time Filmmakers for her screenplay Little White Lies. Her adaptation of the screenplay, performed at Riprap Studio Theatre in 2004, caught the attention of HBO. Sandy closed the theatre January 2009 to prepare for the California Bar Exam which she successfully passed, swearing in on December 1, 2009.

Riprap Studio Theatre allowed Sandy to act, write and produce on a regular basis and to help other actors, writers and producers through television and her web site. From July 2006–2007 her weekly television show, Riprap Entertainment TV (“RETV”), aired in Southern California on KVMD TV, an independent station reaching over 8 million potential viewers. The TV concept was designed to entertain and to promote the arts and artists, both locally and world-wide. An example of the success of RETV is Eccentric, a two act stage play, submitted to RETV and highlighted on the segment “Script Analysis”. The play was later mounted at Riprap Studio Theatre to rave reviews, including being named Critic's Pick! in the LA Weekly. Another popular segment, “Girl Talk!” reached an overall #1 rating on BiggyTV.com an invitation only subscription content provider.

At Riprap Studio Theatre, Sandy became the “go to” girl for friends, fellow actors, and clients, providing guidance with such things as casting, marketing strategies, newsletters and press releases. Her cooperative nature quickly prompted requests for assistance on film and video shoots, and third-party productions. Now now she is available to you.

Sandy is particularly unique; she embodies numerous perspectives in one life experience as an actress since age 16, writer, playwright, producer, cancer survivor, attorney and business owner. She is a business owner who truly understands the passion in deciding to pursue a dream. Someone with personal knowledge of the importance of adding or expanding a marketing campaign while struggling to make ends meet. Sandy has connections with actors from ingénue to union pros, also directors, cinematographers, etc., etc.

Why risk making mistakes when you don't have to? Think you can shoot the video yourself? Sure you can! But in today's world, time has never been a more precious commodity. Why not work with a pro who can give you the most product for the time and money you invest?

From Sandy:

When I added producer to my resume I found a love as near and dear to my heart as acting and equally creative. I love the challenges and the need to think on one's feet. No matter how stressful, I enjoy putting out fires. The show must go on, right?! I never merely rented my theatre. I always went above and beyond what was necessary to make people comfortable and assist them in their project. If a filmmaker wanted to know where to rent camera equipment, or how to build a dolly I always tried to help or find the answer.

Taking a concept, a simple idea, or a vision from thought to paper and then to stage and/or film is tremendously rewarding to all involved. I have married my love of both business and art for the past decade and Sweet Spotz World is a continuation of that journey. If your gut is telling you that you need video on your web site, I'm here to confirm that your gut is right. And if your gut is telling you to work with me, follow it!

Take a deep breath, review the web site, email me, and let's work together to enhance your bottom line, brand your business, and build your dreams.
